OA Monterey County
Overeaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength, and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.
There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology, or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues.
Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.
To the Newcomer
Overeaters Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women from all walks of life who meet in order to help solve a common problem - compulsive overeating, which includes obesity, anorexia and bulimia. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.
Please read "Our Invitation to You", check out our website and attend a meeting. What ever your problem with food, OA welcomes you.

We suggest that you try a few different meetings before deciding whether or not Overeaters Anonymous is for you. You can obtain a Newcomer Packet at most any meeting which will help you determine if you have come to the right place. Only you can decide if you have a desire to stop eating compulsively, which is the only requirement for membership.
